Bluelinx is hiring full-time CDL A Local Flatbed Drivers in Houston, TX. The driver will transport building and industrial products in the greater Houston, TX area and be home daily.

Compensation

• $234.00 per day
• 39 CPM with guaranteed 600 miles per day

  • At Bluelinx, if you are a Driver, you are eligible for our Big Blue Bonus(B3)! Eligibility for the B3 bonus is based on your date of hire, your location’s financial performance as well as your individual performance. If all criteria are achieved, employees have the ability to be paid a quarterly bonus of $500. Potentially an earned $2,000 annual bonus

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

• Home Every Night!
• Shift: Monday - Friday, no weekend work
• Schedule: Start time 6am; 10 – 12 hour shifts
• Route: Deliveries within 200-250 miles of Houston, TX
• No Touch Freight. No tarping, only responsible for securement

Equipment

• Newer model Internationals and Kenworths
• Automatic 
• Forward and outward event triggered cameras
• Utilize Samsara ELD

Responsibilities

• Accurate and timely delivery of freight and pick-up 
• Load securement and directing the unloading by customer forklift operators 
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports 
• Manage Proof of Delivery Paperwork from customers 
• Interact professionally with customers; process and communicate customer issues 
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections 
• Maintain clean tractor and perform minor maintenance of equipment as required

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21
• Valid Class A License
• 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years
• Flatbed experience is a plus
• Must be able to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• Safe Driving Record (considered on a case-by-case basis):
  • No DUI’s in last 5 years
  • No more than 1 moving violation or preventable accident in the last 12 months 
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physical ability to secure loads 
• Ability to read customer orders and able to write and speak English
• Must be a team player with good customer service skills
• Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical 
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 20 miles of Houston, TX or be willing to relocate for this position
