Florence, KY – The organizers of Expedite Expo 2013 have announced that Pallotta Ford of Wooster, OH, will debut the highly anticipated Ford Transit Van to the expedite trucking industry at the Expedite Expo, to be held July 26-27 at the Roberts Convention Centre in Wilmington, OH.

2014-Ford-Transit_1.jpgAccording to Ford, “the new 2014 Transit Van is all about helping you work productively and profitably, whether you’re an independent owner-operator or the manager of a corporate fleet. The Transit is designed to maximize cargo space for carrying large volumes and heavy payloads. And it’s engineered to get the job done efficiently.”

The Ford Transit Van, which is scheduled to be in production in the fourth quarter of 2013 and will be built in Kansas City, features an innovative new design and technology. With three available lengths and three different roof heights, the Transit will offer each owner the flexibility to find the right fit for his or her needs.

The 2014 Transit will be available as a full size van, a cutaway, and also as a chassis cab. Several powertrain options will be available, including a diesel option.

Payload for the Transit will range from 2,710 pounds to 4,690 pounds, with a cargo capacity ranging from 273 to 496 cubic feet.

The Transit’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating will range from 8,600 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on the version.

The advanced technology available on the Transit will include the Ford SYNC System.27 The SYNC system allows a driver to access mobile communications, entertainment, directions and travel information using touch-sensitive buttons or simple voice commands. Another driver-assist feature is the available Lane-Keeping System27, which can warn a driver if its sensors detect you’re drifting out of your lane.

The Transit also will offer a variety of cargo-door configurations designed to improve productivity. Low-roof models will come with passenger-side 60/40-hinged cargo doors, while the medium- and high-roof models will have a passenger-side sliding cargo door. Dual sliding side cargo doors will be available on vans. The rear hinged 50/50 cargo doors swing open 180 degrees on the 130-inch wheelbase models and 270 degrees on the 148-inch wheelbase models. The standard step bumper makes getting in and out of the cargo area easy. And the rear doors are fitted with high-visibility reflective strips on the door edges and at the inside edge so that they can be easily seen when the doors are open.

Because no two applications are the same, the Transit offers a wide array of available cargo management options you can customize to your particular application, from storage cabinets to dividers, drawers and more.
